JATI Table Top — Solid Teak
JATI Table Top — Solid Teak

Real wood, built to outlast the desk it sits on. The Colta Teak Table Top is milled from kiln-dried Indonesian teak at a full 30 mm thick — the same timber that's been used for ship decks and colonial furniture for centuries, because it simply doesn't give up. Teak carries its own natural oils. That's what makes it resist moisture, warping, and termites long after ordinary wood has failed. Every board is sanded by hand, rounded at the corners, and arrives pre-drilled for Colta Elevate frames — ready to bolt on and use.
No two boards are the same. Yours will have its own grain.

About the wood
About the wood
Teak is a natural material, and every board tells you where it came from.
- Grain and color vary between boards. Some run straight and even, others show wider figure. This is the character of real wood, not a defect.
- Teak deepens with age. Fresh teak leans golden. Over the first year it settles into a richer, warmer tone. Many owners consider this the best part.
- Small knots and mineral streaks are natural. We select boards carefully, but we don't reject wood for being wood.
Photos show a representative board. Yours will be its own.

Care instructions
Care instructions
Teak asks for very little, and rewards the little it asks.
- Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Dry immediately.
- Re-oil every 6–12 months to keep the color rich and the surface sealed.
- Use coasters under hot mugs and mats under heavy equipment.
- Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, thinner, and abrasive sponges.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading.
- Light scratches can be sanded out with fine-grit paper and re-oiled — something no laminate top can offer.

FAQ
Is this real teak, or teak veneer?
Real teak, all the way through. It's solid timber, not a veneer over particleboard — which is why you can sand and re-oil it for decades.
Will the grain look exactly like the photo?
No, and that's the point. Every teak board has its own grain and tone. The photos show a representative example.
Will it warp?
The wood is kiln-dried to 8–12% moisture content before machining, which is what keeps solid wood stable indoors. Keep it out of standing water and prolonged direct sun and it will stay flat.
Will it fit my Colta desk frame?
Yes. Every Colta Table Top fits the full Elevate range (frame width 100–175 cm). If you're using another brand's frame, check that your frame adjusts within that range.
Can I add accessories to the desk?
Absolutely! Our Table Top is compatible with a range of accessories like monitor arms, keyboard trays, and desk organizers.
Is it heavier than the MDF top?
Yes — solid teak at 30 mm has real weight to it. This is worth knowing if you're mounting it yourself; we recommend two people for the 160 and 180 cm sizes.
How do I re-oil it?
Wipe clean, apply a thin coat of natural wood oil with a lint-free cloth, let it absorb for 15 minutes, then buff off the excess. Once or twice a year is enough.
Can I order a size that isn't listed?
Yes — select Custom and send us your dimensions. Custom tops ship in 3–5 working days and cannot be returned.
Why is it more expensive than the MDF top?
Because it's a different product. Teak is a slow-growing hardwood, and a solid 30 mm board will still be usable long after a laminate top has been thrown away.
Does it come with screws?
Yes, a mounting screw set is included.
